Diversity in Development (DID) lab will be at #SRCD2025! Check out our posters and talks ranging from Latine children's racial understanding, children's political ingroup preferences, and using EEG to study social group understanding in infancy! So proud of my students!
The DID Lab's first birthday celebration with an apple crumble pie from The Buttery Bakery! Happy Birthday to our very own Annie Schwartzstein (@AnnieeBeann)! 🎉
Our researchers Dr. Sabrina Burr and @DopieralaOla in action in Boston at #fNIRS2022 🥳. It's absolutely wonderful to see all of their hard work being celebrated and showcased! @SfNIRS
Survived my first week of teaching as an assistant prof @ucsc! We also did our first @ucsc_did_lab lunch❤️ Can’t wait to do amazing science with @CarolineJCha and @AnnieeBeann and enjoy more beautiful beach time 🌊
Happy April 15th! To celebrate, I will make my first academic-twitter announcement! Next year, I'm so excited to be headed to @ucsc to start my PhD with @H_G_Hwang! I'll be researching how children learn and think about politics and political identity.
I’m so grateful for the mentors and friends I’ve been so lucky to have over the years - especially those from @PsychPrinceton (Baby Lab!), @UMNPsych, and @BabyLearningUBC!
This has been a huge goal of mine for many years - I can still remember sitting in class at @UMNPsych and thinking “woah, I could do this as a job” and my mind being absolutely blown.
@HABrazeau 5. I don’t teach 6. Working with the undergrad RAs. Also having a big picture view of the lab and having a lot of power to impact things! 7. Can be a position that is not as respected by other researchers - but most people are really grateful for help! 8. I work for one PI
@HABrazeau 4. Managing undergrad RAs, lab finances, research work, lab events, community outreach, recruiting participants, technology and equipment upkeep, IRB stuff, training new people, anything that comes up throughout the day (can be unpredictable!)
@HABrazeau Currently a lab manager!
1. BA 2. Sort of, I work on research with my PI related to the lab. I’m applying to grad school unrelated to the lab I’m currently in, so it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to do something in “my interests” 3. With my PI
This is a shocking video:
By tracking phones, you can see how a group of people on one beach during spring break return home and have the potential to spread #COVID19 around a huge section of the country.
The video is also shocking because we are being monitored all the time.
@mcguine_ryan I’m also not a SF expert but I highly recommend The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. It’s about a space journey but it feels real(?) and you end up thinking about humanity and religion. If you read it I def want to hear your thoughts!
