‘My community members depend on the dam for cultivation. They use the crops to buy animals, save in groups, and also pay medical bills. GBV has also reduced. It reduced stress on me. I used to get calls at night about couples fighting but this has stopped’. Lokiru Ben LCIII.
H.E Bouwe-Jan Smeding, Deputy Ambassador & Head of Development Cooperation @NLinUganda – Chief Guest said, "Investing in nutrition is investing in Uganda's prosperity! Let's prioritize efficient use of resources & multi-sector partnerships to ensure nutritious food for all.”

@CAREUganda@gabazira@NaguruC Looking forward to the future of development - the need to re-define roles of NNGOs and INGOs in advancing the localisation agenda is eminent! INGOs should come up with new offers, as the NNGOs increasingly undertake to do direct program delivery.
@CAREUganda@gabazira Indeed financial and social empowerment is more apparent when talking women & girls! VSLAs are a social and economic safety net- providing mechanisms for absorbing shocks and empowering women.
