@PropheticAlis ~ that I made it. I bit my tongue as it threatened to say something smart-assed. I gestured towards the people milling around the room.

"What is this? How are we supposed to care for these people?"

We? Even his eyebrows shot up at that.

@PropheticAlis ~ my chest as I stood firm behind the counter. I wasn't going to lie, I really wanted to be one of the people touching and hugging him for comfort, but I wasn't sure if either of us were ready for that.

He stopped on the opposite side of the counter, telling me he was glad ~

@PropheticAlis ~ so it looked like I was going to have to keep my distance from the back.

I did just that, wedging myself into the corner behind the counter. I could just varely see out of the window, in case I needed to keep watch.

@PropheticAlis ~ stomach wasn't ripped open.

I gagged and coughed my way to the bathroom, just barely making it to the filthy bathroom before I lost what little water I had in my stomach.

That would explain why the place was trashed and left unlocked.

I wasn't supposed to leave though, ~
