I REJECT THE CONCOCTED RESULTS OF THE ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
Following reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement in most parts of the country during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primaries yesterday, I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced.
I had initially stated that I will only accept the outcome of the Primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word. I will not accept results from a process that does not reflect the values that the ADC had pledged to uphold, to rescue Nigerians from the impunity and gross mismanagement that our country is currently facing in the hands of the ruling party.
There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others? The whole idea of the ADC was to give the Nigerian people a platform, to amplify the voices of the downtrodden, and make Nigeria a better place for everyone irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicity, or religion.
A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices that leads to the disenfranchisement of voters who are party members. This is not acceptable!
- Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi
I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps.
What if every state in Nigeria had some like Professor Nnenna Otti who stood with the people and pronounced the rightful results?
Nigeria would have been a better place for all...
It amazes me to hear about repentant Boko Haram, ISIS members etc under Operation Safe Corridor. People responsible for killing, maiming, and kidnapping hundreds or thousands now moving freely, as though repentance came with a fast track pass back into society and a please behave sticker.
Since 6am Peter Obi has been up campaigning, started his day going for Ash Wednesday Mass and has been going to every village and corner to talk about ADC.
Others are sitting at home.
It’s 8pm at night and he’s still outside selling ADC to the deepest of villages.
If every leader was working as hard as him, ADC would face zero challenges.
Many of the younger ones are even struggling to keep up to his pace, yet he remains tireless and energetic.
NOBODY is like him, he’s exceptional.
Sokoto state should with immediate effect join Niger Republic in making Hausa official language.
2. What kind of message is the Governor of Sokoto state sending to the rest of Nigeria?
3. When i said 70% of them cannot read and write, some of you argued on this app.
oya nah,
argue with this one.
Those who demanded a change of govt through violent protests in 2014/2015 don't want citizens to enjoy freedom of association because they are in power.
The APC, which once clamoured for free and fair elections in 2015, no longer wants anyone to speak about free and fair elections today.
Those who once called for civil war and military intervention now oppose such actions because they are in power and acting in self-interest.
Those who campaigned on insecurity in 2014/2015 no longer want citizens to report killings, maimings, kidnappings, and other crimes.
Those who freely exercised their fundamental human rights in 2014/2015 now oppose criticism of the government.
This is how Nigeria continues to descend.
Young Nigerians who support the excesses of this government should remember that power is transient.
Another government could do even worse.
