Step 5: The #milling process begins with the placing base stone on the #CNC machine bed. A rotating #cylindricalcuttingtool performs cutting & drilling operations on the stone that move along multiple axes while the base stone is moved in different directions

Step 4: Once the #threedimensional model is prepared, dimensions are translated into manufacturing directives and fed into a Computer Numerical Controlled (#CNC) #millingmachine at our digital fabrication unit in #India.

Step 3: Once the two-dimensional drawing takes shape, three-dimensional modeling comes into the picture. Employing software programs such as Autodesk 3ds Max, intricate textures and details are added.

Step 2: Once the concepts are finalized by #RuchikaGrover, the process moves to computer-aided designing where the rough ideas are built upon – precise measurements are determined for the #patterns and #details added in depth…

Over the next few days, join us as we reveal our unique work process in steps – from #design conceptualization, all the way to #fabrication & #installation.
Step 1: Our process usually begins with our Creative Director #RuchikaGrover sketching out rough concepts
Conceptualised by @ruchika_grover, The Kinetic #01 Illuminated Cuboids add life to #natural stone. The patterns explore #parametric movement, are carved out of thick natural stone with three material options – Pristine White Marble, Crema Limestone, and Graphite Grey Granite
#anomasculptures
The Bodhi, designed by @ruchika_grover, is part of our #Foliage Collection, which highlights the often over-looked vein #patterns on leaf surfaces. It is carved out of Absolute Black Granite and Carrara White #Marble and features an antique brass base#art #design
#WIPWednesdays#Throwback
Behind-the-scenes peek of our team #3Dmapping the intricate #stone carvings at, the Great Stupa at Sanchi, India. Our parent brand @odyssey.abstractions’ design for the Torana Gate was a reinterpretation of the mapped relief work.

The Maple, designed by @ruchika_grover, is part of our Foliage Collection, which highlights the vein #patterns on leaf surfaces. It is available in 24” X 24” #modular panels with three color choices: Pristine White Marble, Crema Limestone, and Graphite Grey Granite
