🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
Putting this announcement out there isn't easy — but all good things must come to an end.
Anser Journal will close submissions on April 30, and after we publish our final pieces through the month of May, we'll be closing out the journal. (1/5)
We have a new piece up from @lucyrlevin!!
"Ocean City" is filled with nostalgia, Jesus billboards, and "Brian Lehrer’s faint whisper through the speakers" — in other words, it's brilliant.

I have three poems in @AnserJournal today! Thankful for these poems to have a home! They’re all about flowers - which I just now realized. How spring like of me!

We're publishing three new poems from the brilliant @applestoabby that explore loss, grief, and starstruck wonder. Give them a read!

New piece up from @rudexvirus1!
"I would throw my blanket to the ground and dance until it soaked my bones, and I’d have to shower just to shave it all away from my skin."

Though I respect the decision, I’m sad to hear that @AnserJournal is winding down. I only submitted once and didn’t get in, but the archives are full of great work from @sootynemm, @mattleemiller32, @AceBoggess and so many others. Thanks for everything, Joshua & Rachel.
Our hope is that someone wandering the byways of the Internet will one day stumble across some poem or prose we've published, silently read it, and smile, or laugh, or ponder.
So — until April 30, get in your best writing. We can't wait.
Signing off, Joshua & Rachel. (5/5)

And, most importantly, thank you to our readers, for sharing in the joy and wonder of our contributor's work with us.
Us two editors will move on to new and exciting projects, but we're leaving https://t.co/M1bn0KC4IH up for the foreseeable future. (4/5)
.@sweetfirefly2's latest poem, "The cougar expands her red mouth," sings.
"After so much stalking, / after so much waiting, my body’s secrets traverse the sky. / I shiver with the lightness / of lost lies, wanting more, a bird nest untangled."
