It was a privilege to interact with professors, researchers, and students from Thailand universities during our university visit. The exchange of ideas, academic discussions, and collaborative learning opportunities made this experience highly valuable.

Every year, before the Matric Examination, I make it a point to meet my children at KISS and hand over a pen to each of them. It is a small gesture, but it carries my blessings and my faith in them.
This year, 2,100 of our students — 1,100 girls and 1,000 boys — are appearing for the examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. It is perhaps the highest number from any single school in the country. For many of these children, this examination is not just about marks; it is about hope, confidence and a step towards a brighter life. Most come from very humble backgrounds, yet they carry big dreams. I always tell them to remain calm, stay focused and write their exams without fear. Hard work and sincerity will always bring results.
My blessings are always with them. May they move ahead with confidence and make their families and society proud.
Today, KIIT -DU completes 22 years of its journey.
When we began on 16th February 2004, it was with a simple dream — to create an institution where education would give confidence, character and opportunity to every child who walks through its gates. Step by step, with the support of our students, teachers, staff, alumni and well-wishers, that small beginning has grown into a strong family.
On this Foundation Day, I offer my gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey. Whatever KIIT is today has been built through collective effort, discipline and belief.
My blessings are with all our students. May KIIT continue to serve society with sincerity, and may we always remain rooted in values as we move forward.
On the 22nd Foundation Day of KIIT, we were privileged to host distinguished global leaders for the Foundation Day Lecture — Mr. John Oppenheimer, Founder & Chairman of Columbia Hospitality (USA); Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thero of Colombo; Mr. K.N. Shanth Kumar, Director of The Printers (Mysore) Pvt. Ltd. and Board Member of Press Trust of India; and Most Revered Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of Ripa International Center, Switzerland.
As I reflected on our 22-year journey, I shared that whatever we have achieved belongs to our students, faculty and staff of KIIT, KISS and KIMS. This institution has grown because of their dedication and faith.
Our guests spoke with warmth and conviction about impact, integrity, humility and compassion. Their words offered guidance to our young minds. I am grateful to them for being part of this meaningful occasion.
It was good to meet Mr @BillGates again today in New Delhi, on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit. We spoke at length about how the Gates Foundation and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) can work together, especially for gender equality, and how education can remain the strongest bridge for lasting change.
I also remembered his earlier visit to Bhubaneswar and the encouragement he extended to our children. This time too, he appreciated the work being done for tribal students over the past three decades. He was kind enough to present me a copy of his book Source Code with a warm note. I shared my books with him as a small gesture of respect.
I feel grateful for his continued goodwill towards our children and the work we are doing, and I hope that together we can do more for those who need support the most.
