@fivecentman@TheDonStein Okay, fair. But if he won they would. I’m just saying - it’s easy to sound magnanimous when you’re in no danger of actually losing. And it’s also easy to find quotes that make Hitler seem peaceful and FDR seem like a warmonger if you look for them.
@lsanger Article about Denali/Mount McKinley. Refuse to call it Mount McKinley even though that is its federally designated name since but when Obama renamed it to Denali was changed in less than 24 hours. Discussion shut down.
@Empty_America This explains your occasional postings about learning French. My Québécois wife’s (stunning) village church was recently converted into condos. I mentioned to locals how sad it was to see and they seemed to just have never really thought about it.
It just clicked for me that while Millennials often disappoint their Boomer parents with their middling work ethic, Gen Zers are living out the slacker dreams their Xer parents always had but were often too worldly to actually live out.
@CSandbatch@Empty_America Another shocking one is comparing the segregated “colored” traincar (theres one in the Smithsonian African American Museum) to “basic economy” airplane seats. Better than first class.
@FireInTheMindCA @Empty_America I don’t disagree. I think it would take until the next generation to achieve integration. My point is, they’d hate it. Truly hate it. But you wouldn’t see a lot of accompanying violence resulting compared to almost anywhere else on earth.
@Empty_America Having spent 4 months up there recently, there’s a true disdain for America coupled with a typical liberal aversion to true violence. The most plausible? A quick military operation would be followed by begrudging compliance and, shortly thereafter, full cultural integration.
@megha_lilly This is why Lutherans are endlessly frustrated to be lumped in with popular Protestantism by RCs. Confessional Lutherans DO do confession. They are not your enemy.
