@Avabelly__ Oh man, I understand the thought behind it, from a privacy perspective. Especially in dense neighborhoods where one can feel like a zoo animal. But I personally love looking at homes. The people in there are irrelevant to me, I'd like to take inspiration for my own home.

@miiniiiie @FirestormXXL Liegt einfach daran, dass in agrikulturellen Gesellschaften andere mentale skills gebraucht werden, als abstraktes Denken und Zahlenreihen. Da geht es viel mehr um konkrete, reale Zusammenhänge und Muster.

@miiniiiie @FirestormXXL Der IQ Test misst, was der IQ Test messen soll. Im Endeffekt wird der Test regelmäßig so angepasst, dass der "modern geprägte" Mensch einen score von 100 erreicht. Bei einem heutigen IQ Test würden unsere ländlichen Vorfahren von von 150 Jahren sicher auch nicht über 70 kommen.

Also, people should learn to live independently for themselves before they settle with a partner. Self sufficiency makes society as a whole stronger.

@Sassafrass_84 3 is fine, as it allows the student to move freely without having to worry about wardrobe malfunction or tripping. 4 should be an option for colder days. I'd add shorts and long trousers for all students.

@sparbuchfeinde It is the olive oil and the coffee. Whenever our grocery bill seems to be ridiculously high, we either got multiple kgs of meat (not to be consumed on one occasion), or alcoholic beverages (wine/rum/whiskey etc). Followed by coffee (always buy in bulk), or oil/vinegar.

@Erika_Muller123 @demofueralle Nope. You can regret something and still emotionally invest in it. I could spend lots of money on a new car, totally love it, but slowly regret making this decision as I'm suffering financially.
However, never tell your kids that you regret having them.

@elonmusk that's winner takes it all / electoral college system for you. True precentage-based representative systems work better imo, but I guess you'd have to change a lot for that?

@PeraPer30124208 @WilliamMcgibney @ioandtitan @DavidReilly007 I guess every theologian would agree that the texts that made it into the bible were written by humans over a couple millennia. There are contradictions everywhere.
I'm still baffled that people read these texts today and believe that god miracuously wrote them as RAW.

@WilliamMcgibney @ioandtitan @DavidReilly007 I guess you are both on the same page. You read the bible as Brian would, and see it as a book written by people 2000 years ago. You base your faith off it, while he doesn't.
The problem are people today who read the bible like they would a science textbook, or news report.

@ronnieschaniel @jacobrodri_ My dad lives there, and he loves every bit of it. You can live a pretty frugal life if you want to, since the Swiss (according to his assesment) are less stingy than the Germans, and 2nd hand is dirt cheap. If you're eating out regularly though, you'll be broke in no time :D

@ronnieschaniel @jacobrodri_ Switzerland is great, I don't deny that. The country has uniqueadvantages though:
- a small population that is more self-sufficient
- ginormous wealth due to being the bank of the world
- great topology for hydropower
- no need for huge military spendings due to staying neutral
