¿Por qué el polo norte es habitado y la Antártida no? 🤔

La Antártida es un continente cubierto en su mayoría por hielo, que contiene aproximadamente el 70% del agua dulce del planeta. En contraste, el Ártico está formado principalmente por agua de mar congelada y está rodeado de tierra que pertenece a seis países que bordean el Océano Ártico.

Además de ser más fría que el Polo Norte, la Antártida sigue siendo el único lugar en la Tierra que no pertenece a ninguna nación. Está regulada por el Tratado Antártico, que establece que la tierra y los recursos deben utilizarse para fines pacíficos y científicos.

Sin embargo, esto no significa que la Antártida esté deshabitada. Sus principales habitantes son los pingüinos, junto con focas, calamares gigantes y muchas otras especies.

En la Antártida existen alrededor de 66 bases científicas, pero solo 37 están ocupadas durante todo el año.
