Glad to share my colored pencil drawing, using the one and only @GodfreyComedian as my muse. Still in the early stages, but I’ve really been enjoying the process of building this one up layer by layer, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of the progress with y’all ✍🏽

Some pieces mean a little more while you’re creating them. This was one of those. 🇺🇸🦅

Finally getting a chance to share another update on this one.
Had a few things keeping me occupied lately, so I wasn’t able to move through this piece as fast as I normally would. But I’m glad to finally have the figure of @ATLShirley’s art piece completed, hair and all

[New Work in Progress]
New colored pencil portrait inspired by Atlanta’s own Shirley Franklin @ATLShirley. Still early in the process, but this one already speaking to me heavy. Been locked in on the face and slowly building the layers up piece by piece.
I lost my mama 5 years ago today.
Still in the early days of my art back then… she was always there, always looking at what I made, always pushing me.
I leaned into it even more after she passed. Built myself up piece by piece.
Still my reason. 🤍
Just finished my new piece “Behind the Lens,” featuring @VanJones68
Created with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils & NuPastel chalk on 16×20” paper, about 160 hours of layering tones, reflections, and detail.
Watching a portrait come to life never gets old. 🎨✍🏽
Figure now fully developed on this Van Jones (@VanJones68) portrait. Once everything start sitting together like this, the presence really lock in. Ain’t finished overall, but he definitely here. ✍🏽🎨

Just finished “Unspoken Gaze • Crowned In Curls.” A 200 hour portrait of Karine Jean-Pierre (@K_JeanPierre), created with Prismacolor pencils and NuPastel on a 16×20” paper.
A deep, meditative process of curls, glow, and texture.
Thank y’all for following all along. ❤️🎨✍🏽
