Happy national autism day to the one and only. Blessed to be your brother and live life with your crazy self. Always puts a smile on my face. #WorldAutismDay
Coaches are really good when their players are really good. Never forget that.
I’ve been in a semi final game as a HC and I’ve also been 3-7.
I can tell you with certainty the 3-7 year was a better coaching job.
People who focus solely on W/L will always miss the mark.
Just had a student in my strength and power class, tell me “Coach, your standards are too high”
Yeah because wearing shoes, changing for class and putting your weights away is such a high standard…. Idk about these kids anymore
I will not lower the standard for your son. I will not play players who do not do what they have been coached to do. It will not get easier, your son will get tougher. & Yes i do have favorites, my favorites are the players who do what I ask them to do. #EFFORT
High school coaches chasing stars at other schools instead of developing the kids in their own program is wild to me.
Build what you have. Develop your backyard. That's real coaching.
I played at a college where the little things mattered. We had to wear matching practice gear. We had to be clean shaven. We had matching cleats. We warmed up in unison. We had a routine that we religiously stuck to. It was the standard. We were a unit.
Some of you out there will say it's eyewash but it ALL matters. It ALL makes a difference.
We were disciplined, structured, and a team in everything we did.
And we won, a lot. 🏆
The most dangerous team in any league is not the most talented one. It’s the most connected one. When players genuinely love each other and play for each other the talent gap becomes irrelevant.
41 years of coaching football taught me that while scheme, and coaching are important, the biggest indicator or predictor of success is player, parental and communities Investment! When everyone puts in the quality time to outwork & out prepare your opponents, success happens.
Tremendous content, as always, from Carlos Locklyn as the Ohio State running backs work through a drill.
It’s a very young group with Bo Jackson and Isaiah West limited, and Locklyn is coaching them hard.
For the super young Buckeye/Wolverine fans: please go back and watch this game in its entirety. It’s one of the greatest football games ever played. The stakes were everything. Winner to the National Championship game. 1 vs 2 in the greatest rivalry in sport. They moved kickoff from noon for this. THIS is what college football used to be about, not whatever 96 team playoff they’re trying to sell you these days.
REMINDER:
The Seahawks didn’t run the ball because the Patriots prepared for that exact play. They baited them to pass with their HEAVY Goal Line package.
Credit the Patriots.
