2026 Nobel Edebiyat Ödülü’nü kazanan Anne Carson’ın Nobel Komitesi’yle yaptığı telefon görüşmesi:
“Reykjavik’teki evimde çay içip London Review of Books okuyordum. Yerleri süpürmeye kalktığımda telefonlar çalmaya başladı. Hepsini kapattım. Eşim zorla geri arattı. Eşim “Aç şu telefonu artık. Belki de Nobel’dir” dedi.”
Şu anda nasıl hissediyorsunuz?
— Sadece kraker yiyip çay içiyorum. Pek dramatik bir durum yok.
Nobel’i bekliyor muydunuz?
— Ortadan. Tek kuralım bu.
İlham kaynağınız?
— Homeros.
Antik hikâyelerin bugün hâlâ geçerli olmasının nedeni ne?
— Geçerli değiller. Onların bizim için geçerli olmasıyla ilgilenmiyorum. Bizim onlara layık olmamızla ilgileniyorum.
Sıkılmaktan kaçınmak neden önemli?
— Kim sıkılmayı sever ki? Uyumak mı, Homeros okumak mı? Günün geri kalanında ne yapacağıma böyle karar veriyorum. Hayat sıkıcı.
Genç yazarlara tavsiyeniz?
— Ortadan başlayın.
So Anne Carson wins the Nobel. And what could be a better time than now to share her intimate and timeless teardrop of a poem.
O Small Sad Ecstasy of Love.

🚨 Why Seeing Earth From Space Breaks Something Inside You
Crying when you see Earth for the first time isn’t crazy, it’s human. Psychologists call it the Overview Effect, and it’s one of the deepest emotional shifts a human being can experience.
When an astronaut looks at Earth from space, the brain is confronted with something it was never prepared for: an entire planet floating in the void, without borders, without flags, protected only by an atmosphere as thin as the skin of an apple.
Many astronauts describe it the same way:
“From here you don’t see ideologies or countries. Just a fragile crew traveling together on the same ship.”
In that moment, something breaks inside, and all problems seem insignificant against the cosmic silence.
Perhaps humanity’s greatest mistake isn’t moral or technological, but one of distance.
Maybe we don’t need more progress… maybe we need to look at our home from farther away to understand how absurd it is to destroy it from within.
This is called the Overview Effect - the profound feeling when we view Earth from space, often described as a sudden sense of the planet’s fragility, interconnectedness, and the absurdity of political borders.
We need more of that…. Maybe this mission will help.
Today is Trans Day of Visibility.
Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people have always been here — from the hijra of India to the Diné nádleehi to the leaders who built the modern LGBTQIA+ movement here in New York.
Your existence is not up for debate. Your lives are not a political issue.
We’re fighting for a city where every trans New Yorker can live openly, safely, and with joy.
I am outraged by the removal of the Rainbow Pride Flag from Stonewall National Monument. New York is the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, and no act of erasure will ever change, or silence, that history.
Our city has a duty not just to honor this legacy, but to live up to it. I will always fight for a New York City that invests in our LGBTQ+ community, defends their dignity, and protects every one of our neighbors—without exception.
Coco Gauff says she’s Team Ilya when asked about Heated Rivalry
“I saw people talking about a gay hockey show, and that intrigued my mind 😂. I just dove right in. It’s such a beautiful love story. There’s some nice spicy scenes. 😂 I convinced my mom to watch it. She gave it an 8 out of 10. I just wanted the world to know about this show”

The Best Songs of 2025: Lady Gaga, ‘Vanish Into You’
A song that has the emotional propulsion of a great ballad and the cathartic singalong potential of a great dancefloor anthem. So Lady Gaga, in a stroke of pop genius, gave us a taste of the former before committing to the latter.

Sharapova got emotional during Serena’s speech.
“She actually reminds me a lot of Venus. The more I know her the more I think the things we share and can share in the future (…) I think she could have been my sister”.
A Monday morning question for you:
Half your problems are just your mind making minor things seem like major things. What are you over-emphasizing right now?
