"America, we have lost this city."
Pastor Lorenzo Sewell unloaded during a Dearborn, Michigan, city meeting, accusing the city of operating under Sharia law.
"This is a city that is no longer up under American laws; we are up under Sharia law. We will not have it anymore," Sewell said.
"Enough is enough."
The outburst, which came amid a series of other anti-Islam protests in Dearborn, vocalizes fears that Muslim populations in Michigan are working to bring their communities more in line with their religious worldview, views Sewell believes are at odds with the vast majority of the country.

“When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes, they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way—Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

The Code Talkers
Today, we honor the legacy of the Navajo Code Talkers, whose courage, resilience, and native language forever changed the course of history.
During World War II, the Marine Corps turned to a method of communication that Japanese intelligence could never crack: the Navajo language.
In 1942, a group of Navajo Marines developed an unbreakable oral code that allowed for fast and secure communication during battles throughout the Pacific Theater of Operations.
Because of the code's strategic value, their heroic contributions remained secret until 1968.

Two-Mile Honor Run/Walk Celebrates the Legacy of Navajo Code Talkers
WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren joined the community for the Code Talker 2-Mile Honor Run/Walk, celebrating National Navajo Code Talkers Day on August 14.
President Nygren ran alongside participants in Window Rock to honor the courage, sacrifice, and lasting legacy of the Navajo Code Talkers, whose use of the Navajo language created an unbreakable military code that played a vital role during World War II.
The run was an opportunity to remember the generations who served, sacrificed, and carried the Navajo language with pride when their country needed them most.
Thank you to NavajoYES for organizing this special event and bringing the community together in honor of our Navajo Code Talkers.
Ahéhee’ to our Navajo Code Talkers. 🇺🇸🪶
