Former Tour Boat Skipper/Disability Support Worker in Gimuy (Cairns). Mainly focussed on environmental issues but inevitably dealing with social justice #auspol
@EuanRitchie1 When it's 2 days before your 60th birthday and you've spent the night in hospital after falling off your skateboard and landing hard on your ribcage, and you're taking meds but the pain is agile and intractable and mocks your every move.
To fall is human, to skateboard divine.
Pooh could get his chin on the bottom rail if he wanted to, but it was more fun to lie down and get his head under it, and watch the river slipping away beneath him… and it slipped away very slowly, being in no hurry to get there. ~A.A.Milne #wednesday#calm
@Cridafer@ClimateDad77 Having worked in the environment movement for 5 years, I had a vasectomy in 1994. Having being exposed to the facts of our dominion, I could not, in good conscience, have children.
Six years later, a remarkable woman persuaded me to have a reversal.
Both decisions haunt me.
Next federal election, a simple request, please.
Vote for a party/politician that doesn't support genocide, and does support science, experts, and evidence-based policies.
That rules out the LNP, ALP, PHON, KAP, UAP and others.
Read policies, observe actions, not rhetoric.
Piglet gave Pooh a nudge, and Pooh, who felt more and more that he was somewhere else, got up slowly and began to look for himself.
"Pooh," said Piglet reproachfully, "haven't you been listening?"
"I listened, but I had a small piece of fluff in my ear." ~A.A.Milne #fridaymorning
Cool, so there’s > 2000 threatened species and ecological communities in Australia, and @AustralianLabor is spending > $360 Billion on AUKUS.
Australia’s dying wildlife are SO grateful for your generosity on #BiodiversityDay!
Good job, @tanya_plibersek! Well done.
"Without Pooh," said Rabbit solemnly, "the adventure would be impossible."
"Oh!" said Piglet, and tried not to look disappointed. But Pooh went into a corner of the room and said proudly to himself, "Impossible without Me! THAT sort of Bear." ~A.A.Milne #MondayMotivation
What are you doing, @Tanya_Plibersek and @Steve_Dimo? This is an utter disgrace.
Endangered species are being killed and having their homes destroyed.
Please RT if you're likewise outraged and want governments to do more.
.@AustralianLabor, throws:
- Whistleblowers in jail
- Billions of $ to mining oligarchs & fossil fuel companies
- Native wildlife, ecosystems, asylum seekers, the poor, disadvantaged & vulnerable, education, health, the arts, science & research…& our future, under the bus.
The downfall of human civilisation will simply be attributed to having comatosed within a deep abyss of unconsciousness which we never even tried to crawl out of.
The largest organism on the planet, the Great Barrier Reef, is going extinct, along with ALL coral reefs globally.
The apocalypse is happening right now, here on Earth, whatever it is you’re doing, watching, eating or working through.
There is no pause button, and it’s coming for us all

The Middle Arm project would unleash a $1.4 billion tonne carbon bomb into the atmosphere.
Not only does the Federal Government support the project, it is subsidising it to the tune of $2.4 billion.
The Federal Government should not be funding Middle Arm.
There was a loud cracking noise. Pooh’s side of the room was slowly tilting upwards. Owl frowned at as much of Pooh as he could see. “Pooh, did YOU do that?”
“No,” said Pooh humbly.
“I think it was the wind,” said Piglet. “I think your house has fallen down.” ~A.A.Milne #windy
