Elk jaar worden duizenden mensen slachtoffer van mensenhandel voor seksuele uitbuiting, gedwongen arbeid, gedwongen criminaliteit, gedwongen bedelarij of andere vormen van uitbuiting.
Deze vorm van moderne slavernij, gevoed door de georganiseerde misdaad, vormt een ernstige schending van de mensenrechten en blijft een realiteit, zowel hier als elders.

Dit jaar vestigt de campagne #BlueHeart de aandacht op een weinig bekende realiteit: achter bepaalde online oplichtingen kunnen slachtoffers van mensenhandel schuilgaan, die door geweld, angst en dwang worden verplicht om aan deze fraudepraktijken mee te werken.
