These are some of the questions we have explored in the research project Swahili Ocean Worlds: Fishing Communities and Sea Sustainability in Tanzania, supported by the Swedish Research Council (2022-2024).
How do people live with the sea on the Swahili coast in Tanzania? What forms of relational worldmaking can be gleaned from these oceanic relationships? And how does the blue economy paradigm influence the social and ecological sustainability of the sea?

If you want to know more about what pedagogies of the sea could be and mean, take a look at the symposium that Daniel A. Yon, from the University of York and a member of the network, organised in 2019.
