@ClickThinks VCDs are way cheaper to make than VHSs or DVDs since they're 99% just CDs, and only got cheaper as time went on since CD burning became super common. That's the commercial market, sell them way cheaper than a VHS or DVD and still make a profit. Once DVDs were cheap it was over.
