@HeathMayo This is exactly my position. I still believe that there are people that deserve the death penalty but our justice system never has and never will be 100% infallible and one innocent life put to death by the government isn't worth utilizing a punishment that can't be undone.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott suffered a pair of defeats Friday afternoon in his bid to overturn mask mandates in Dallas and Bexar counties.
Two different appeals courts have ruled that mask mandates in those counties were okay. https://t.co/oO1dFlngf5
"I can tell you, anyone here who thinks children do not get COVID—there are children who have died this week in the Texas Medical Center."
A Houston doctor pleads in favor of mask mandates at school board meeting: "There are children dying in our ICUs." https://t.co/0TQMDEjnxD
I'm sure a lot of folks thought that about Nixon. Hell, I'm sure there were a lot of disappointed Union soldiers expecting Lee and the other traitors to be imprisoned.
@RonFilipkowski Let's not forget, Hotze also led an effort to disenfranchise nearly half a million voters in Harris County, attempting to get their votes thrown out because they utilized drive up voting.
@S0me_Guy87 @WardPatriot2@smallsoulbites @SHBueche @jaketapper Okay, clearly you're too dense to grasp fundamental reading. Double jeopardy is a concept most learn in basic government class in high school. I'm guessing you're not American or we wouldn't be having this discussion.
@S0me_Guy87 @WardPatriot2@smallsoulbites @SHBueche @jaketapper Dude, really? Double jeopardy exists here in the US. It prevents vengeful prosecution and those that have been found not guilty from constantly looking over their shoulder.
@DBreath2021 @FIESTYSISTER72 @GlennMarFano1 Congress declared them a vegetable in, like, the 1800's. Botanically, they're a fruit, though. Just goes to show we have a long history of anti science idiots in the US Congress.
@RonFilipkowski Seems to be as much ignorance about the military from the comments in this thread as the ignorance displayed by the service members in the video.
@Mp49426258@RonFilipkowski@peaceboutique Are you kidding me? You really think everyone that enlisted in the US military is just vying for their 20 year retirement and they can't get comparable work in the civilian world? Wow, clearly, you have no clue about the modern US military.
@WardPatriot2 @S0me_Guy87 @smallsoulbites @SHBueche @jaketapper This was the example that came to my mind, as well. Although, the civil trial didn't really have new evidence, the burden of proof is lower. And, when OJ, basically, confessed in a book and interviews, there was nothing prosecutors could do, criminally.
