In this Guardian article, a new migrant to Australia complains she is not entitled to welfare.

In the same article she says she doesn’t want to give up foreign citizenship to obtain Australian citizenship: “We have ancestral property, houses, land. We’d have to give that up.”

Can someone explain how that’s Australia’s problem?

If you have “ancestral property, houses and land” in your home country, why should Australian taxpayers be expected to support you?

Maybe somebody can explain this to me.

Renewable energy failing South Australia yet again tonight - in fact we're burning gas to charge the battery and send much needed electricity to Victoria because their turbines are also failing.

Renewables are a massive policy failure and we need to stop spending money on them.

Australia now plans to issue roughly $125 billion in Treasury bonds next financial year all while:

At the same time, KPMG’s Chief Economist said this federal budget was: “not about tax reform, but one focused squarely on raising revenue.”

That should concern every Australian. Because if governments are increasingly designing tax policy around revenue extraction and debt servicing rather than productivity, investment and wealth creation, then we are very clearly managing decline and not building future prosperity.

This is the uncomfortable reality:
the market is demanding higher yields to lend Australia money while Canberra keeps expanding spending obligations. You cannot sustainably borrow more, tax more and suppress productivity at the same time without consequences. At some point the country has to decide whether the priority is: servicing an ever-growing debt pile, or
rebuilding a productive, affordable and investment-friendly economy.

Imagine a budget that...

Closed the department of climate change.
Ended all net zero grifts and handouts.
Shut out all NDIS scamming shrinking it by two-thirds.
Closed almost all of the Indigenous activist gravy train.
Took all non-Australians off all public support.

And used the savings to pay off the trillion-dollar debt.

Which would almost immediately fix the inflation problem.

And then next year - the budget could reward everyone with huge personal tax cuts.

SCOREBOARD: Electricity Prices ⬆️45.4% since the start of the year.

Despite the relentless hype about “cheap renewables,” official ABS data confirms that retail electricity prices have surged 45.4% in the past three months alone.

This has to be some type of new record.

And it comes against the explicit backdrop of Labor’s solemn promise of $275 cheaper electricity bills.

The sheer incompetence and outright catastrophic failure of Chris “Blackout” Bowen is nothing short of astonishing — and entirely predictable.

This man is a serial disaster who has stuffed-up every single portfolio he’s ever touched, stumbling from one humiliating disaster to the next.

In the energy portfolio, he is dangerously out of his depth, a clueless lightweight drowning in a job far beyond his limited intellect, displaying a level of ignorance and ineptitude that defies belief.

His failure is no longer a joke; it is inflicting serious, longterm damage to the Australian economy — shuttering businesses, driving up costs across the board, and imposing real hardship and declining living standards on ordinary Australians.

If Bowen possessed even a shred of honour, integrity or basic decency he would resign in disgrace immediately.

Instead, he‘ll arrogantly cling to power while Australians pay the price for his breathtaking stupidity.

Australians deserve far better than this level of serial incompetence.
