More broadly, “engineering”, much like artistic ability or athleticism and so on, is not a teachable skill beyond mandarin memorisation of mathematics, material study, and using CAD.

It is a genetically inherited ability, and people are either born with it or not. You cannot teach the every man to be an “engineer” any more than you can teach any random idiot to be an Olympic swimmer, good artist/author, etc.

Eng needs to be overhauled such that they’re only graduating men capable of both the design and execution lines, that is, envisioning, sketching, drawing, modelling, coding, and CNCing + assembling things independently. Useless people otherwise, and handing engineering degrees to people with IQs of 105 has made it a joke of a career path.
