On Tuesday, 7 January, I had the honour to lead a delegation of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the @IntlCrimCourt to meet with the @UN Secretary-General H. E. @antonioguterres on ensuring the Court’s business continuity.

It is important to recall that during the UNGA High-Level Debate (Sept 2024), the UN Secretary-General emphasized confronting the three major drivers of unsustainability including impunity, stating “A world of impunity- where violations and abuses threaten the very foundation of international law and the UN Charter”.

The ICC remains crucial in ending impunity for atrocity crimes. The UN’s unwavering support for its mission is greatly valued.
