"Emotional intelligence is not the absence of negative emotions, it is not letting them drive your behaviour".
There is an old saying that goes:
Fake it till you make it.
Here's a different spin on that one ... I never wanted to fake it.
"Find something that you are fearful of.
Then, FACE it till you make it."
Have an internal,
Locus of control.
Don't rely on external factors for your success.
"Know that you are accountable and responsible for your outcomes, and you are in control of not only your outcomes, but your internal and emotional state".
If you want to get more done in less time,
And not feel busy ... try this strategy:
You will be amazed by how much this helps, because it helps all of the little jobs building up.
'The 3 minute rule:
If something will take you less than 3 minutes, DO IT NOW. Don't put it off'
The most important interview question you can ever ask a candidate is:
Talk me through your relationship with your last leader.
This will help you understand what they are looking for in a leader (or what they didn't like).
"Tell me about your last leader"
One of my golden rules,
Is around how I respond when something goes wrong ...
And I decide to take ownership. Because:
"You can have results, or you can have excuses, you can't have both."
Leaders need to master the:
3 types of conversations.
"General (casual) conversations, connected (caring) conversations, and crucial (challenging) conversations. They all matter".
