This is one of those statements that sounds deep until you understand how financial markets actually work. This post just shows that @ahmedxm01 does not even understand how the financial market works both forex and crypto.

Yes, most retail prop firms use demo or simulated accounts. That is not a secret. It's literally stated in many of their terms and conditions.

But let's stop acting like "demo" automatically means "fake."

Your MT5 balance at a broker is also just numbers on a server until you withdraw. The balance you see is a database entry, not a stack of cash sitting in a vault with your name on it.

The same applies to many CFD brokers. The majority of retail traders are trading contracts, not physically exchanging currencies.

Even in crypto, the balance on an exchange is simply a ledger entry. The exchange updates numbers on its database when you buy or sell. You don't see coins moving across a blockchain every second you place an order.

Even banks work this way. When you transfer ₦1 million, the bank is mostly updating records in databases. Physical cash is rarely moving anywhere.

What matters is not whether the account is simulated. What matters is whether:
1. The firm honors payouts.
2. The firm has risk management.
3. The firm has a sustainable business model.
4. Traders can consistently withdraw profits.

The irony is that many traders screaming "it's a demo account" happily trade CFD brokers where they're also trading synthetic contracts rather than actual underlying assets.

A prop firm's job is not to give you money to play with. Its job is to find profitable traders and share revenue with them. Whether the risk is mirrored to live markets, B-booked internally, or managed through hedging is a business decision.

So saying "it's a demo account" as if you've exposed some hidden secret is like saying your bank account balance is just numbers on a screen.
Of course it is.

The real question is: can you get paid when you make money?
