I am both amused, and dismayed, when people say how great Ratan Tata was, and how he has influenced them, and yet in their behaviour on public platforms, they are quite the opposite of what Ratan Tata would have been.

A friend of ours who had created a lovely advertising campaign for the Tata group talks about Ratan Tata being moved by it but saying he cannot release it because "if you are a true healer, you do not go around telling the people you are a healer. You just heal..." It reminded me of what my mother told me when I was a child "If you are good, the world will say so, you don't have to say it yourself". Curious to know whether, in today's showbiz driven world, whether these thoughts sit well.

A wonderful day unfolded as I was invited to inaugurate TechConnect 2023, part of the prestigious @Techfest_IITB , IIT Bombay at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, alongside Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay. It was an honour to have joined esteemed speakers like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who have previously graced the stage. It was immensely gratifying to see the impact of the @nasscom -led Maverick Effect, that captivated students, faculty and professionals present with the untold story of India’s IT Revolution.

The TechConnect exhibition was a showcase of IIT Bombay's commitment to pioneering research and development in India, with over 100 participants who showcased R&D projects with real world applications. The event was a testament to the cutting-edge work being done in fields like Artificial Intelligence, Smart Manufacturing, Nanoengineering & Semiconductors, Bioscience and more. The expansive research endeavours will see @iitbombay 's students and faculty at the forefront of emergent technologies, and can help position India as the dominant choice in China Plus One strategies.

I’m glad to have brought the ‘Secret Sauce Behind India's IT Revolution’ – The Maverick Effect, to the bright minds and the faculty of IIT Bombay. Sharing its recipe with such an engaged audience was a vivid reminder of the endless possibilities that can be powered by technological prowess as well as collaborative thinking and action.
