A Dalit girl was brutally murdered in Meerut, when no action was taken even after more than two months, the Dalit Activists launched a protest.

While the protest was proceeding peacefully, SSP Avinash Pandey ordered a lathi-charge and brutally beat a Dalit protester inside a police custody van.

We demand that a case be registered against the police officer under the SC/ST Act and that he be permanently dismissed from police service, such treatment of the victims is deeply unjust.

Before Independence, it was the Dominant Hindus who oppressed and beat Dalits, after Independence, it is the police.

Uttar Pradesh is increasingly becoming a graveyard for Dalits. You cannot even raise your voice for justice without facing consequences.

मुख्यमंत्री @myogiadityanath जी, यदि पीड़ित परिवार इस मामले में अन्य लोगों की संलिप्तता का आरोप लगा रहा है, तो उनकी मांगों को दबाने के बजाय पूरे प्रकरण की निष्पक्ष, पारदर्शी और समयबद्ध जांच कराई जानी चाहिए। यह सुनिश्चित किया जाए कि कोई दोषी बचने न पाए और कोई निर्दोष फंसने न पाए। जांच में जो भी दोषी पाया जाए, उसके विरुद्ध कठोर कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाए तथा पीड़ित परिवार को शीघ्र न्याय दिलाया जाए।

मैं शीघ्र ही मेरठ पहुंचकर अपने इस परिवार से मुलाकात करूंगा।
