After the bifurcation of the state, Rajahmundry City has been facing several challenges. Rajahmundry remains as only major city in the state without a major Central educational institution. As a result, the youth from the Rajahmundry–Kakinada region and the Godavari districts are migrating to other states in search of employment. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️💼

Godavari Districts, with a population of more than one crore (10 million), is one of the largest and most active regions in Andhra Pradesh. The distance between Rajahmundry and Kakinada is very less, and with several towns and urban centres located in between, the region naturally has the potential to develop into a major IT, industrial, and educational growth corridor. ⚙️💡

However, despite the region's enormous potential, it still lacks major industries 🏭 and adequate IT infrastructure 💻. With Rajahmundry Airport ✈️, three ports in Kakinada ⚓, strong road and rail connectivity 🚆🛣️, and a large pool of talented students graduating from institutions such as :
• JNTUK – Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada 🎓
• Aditya University 🎓
• Adikavi Nannaya University 🎓
• Godavari Global University (GGU) 🎓
• Pragati University 🎓
• NIT Andhra Pradesh – National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh 🧪
• IIFT – Indian Institute of Foreign Trade 📘
the corridor is well-positioned for rapid economic development.

The government should take the following steps to unlock this potential :

💡 1. STPI Incubation Centre & IT SEZ :
An STPI Incubation Centre and IT SEZ in Rajahmundry can attract IT companies 💼 and startups 🚀, while creating high-skilled employment opportunities 👨‍💻👩‍💻 for the region's youth.

🎓 2. Knowledge City b/w Rajahmundry and Kakinada :
During the state bifurcation, all major cities received Central educational institutions, but Rajahmundry did not receive one. Therefore, a Knowledge City b/w Rajahmundry & Kakinada should be developed, bringing together reputed educational institutions, research centres, and innovation hubs. 📚🔬

🏭 3. Industrial Parks along the Rajahmundry–Kakinada & Kovvur–Devarapalli Corridors :
The government should accelerate the development of industrial parks focused on:
• Agro-processing 🌾
• Logistics 🚚
• Pharmaceuticals 💊
• Green energy 🌱
• Electronics manufacturing 📱
particularly by developing a strong Rajahmundry–Kakinada Electronics Manufacturing Cluster.

With the right vision 👀 and strong government support 🏛️, the Rajahmundry–Kakinada City region can emerge as the next major IT and industrial powerhouse of Andhra Pradesh. 🌇🚀

రాష్ట్ర విభజన సమయంలో ఇతర ప్రధాన నగరాలకు కేంద్ర విద్యాసంస్థలు కేటాయించబడినప్పటికీ, రాజమండ్రికి అలాంటి సంస్థ లభించలేదు. కాబట్టి, రాజమండ్రి–కాకినాడ మధ్య నాలెడ్జ్ సిటీని అభివృద్ధి చేసి, ప్రముఖ విద్యాసంస్థలు, పరిశోధనా కేంద్రాలు మరియు ఇన్నోవేషన్ హబ్‌లను ఏర్పాటు చేయాలి. 📚🔬

The fact that such incidents are occurring frequently in and around Rajahmundry City is deeply concerning. Road safety can no longer be treated as a secondary issue.

SAFETY >>>>> EVERYTHING ELSE

The concerned authorities must take immediate, strict and sustained action to improve road safety and prevent such tragedies from recurring.

The following issues require urgent attention :

• Illegal parking on roads and along major traffic routes.
• Overloaded heavy vehicles, especially those operating in residential areas.
• Sand lorries and other heavy vehicles carrying materials without adequate safety measures.
• Sand falling/spilling onto roads, creating extremely dangerous conditions for two-wheelers and other road users.
• Underage (minor) driving and allowing minors to operate vehicles.
• Drunken driving and driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.
• Over-speeding, reckless driving and dangerous overtaking.
• Triple riding and other unsafe practices on two-wheelers.
• Failure to wear helmets and seat belts.
• Vehicles without proper safety compliance, fitness, lights, reflectors or other required equipment.
• Unnecessary use of high-beam headlights, especially within city limits and at night, causing glare and severely affecting the visibility of oncoming and nearby motorists.
• Poorly aligned or excessively bright vehicle lights, which can temporarily blind other road users.
• Poor lane discipline and violation of traffic rules.
• Insufficient enforcement and monitoring at accident-prone locations.
• Roadside obstructions and other avoidable hazards that put pedestrians and motorists at risk.

These are not merely traffic violations. They can cost human lives.

Authorities should identify accident-prone areas in and around Rajahmundry, strengthen traffic enforcement and surveillance, conduct regular checks on heavy and commercial vehicles, take strict action against repeat offenders, and ensure that roads remain safe and free from avoidable hazards. There should be zero tolerance for dangerous driving and serious traffic violations.

Around 233 shops encroaching on the footpath between the Historic Bengaluru Fort, Victoria Hospital and KR Market were cleared today by the BLR Central Corporation.

Many of these were permanent metal-fabricated structures erected using forged documents purportedly issued by the erstwhile BBMP, completely blocking the view of the Historic Fort and leaving no space for pedestrians in one of Bengaluru’s busiest corridors.
