Adult newly diagnosed with ADHD, GAD - No idea what I'm doing | Here to impulsively overshare in a hopefully funny, useful way | Creative | ENG is my 2nd lang.
Finally read It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini and... It's kind of scary how well it describes me.
"How can I be so lazy and yet so ambitious?"

A year ago I put an airtight container of to-be-thrown-out-grapes behind the window thinking I'll put it in the bin right before going to the garbage with it.
Well, it's still there, behind the window, I'm too afraid to touch it so I pretend it doesn't exist

Yooo, I've been officially declared to have DEPRESSION!
Another MHD for my list! ❤️
Honestly though, one should take a diagnosis as a positive thing because it means someone hears you, believes you, has something specific to work with - and you can finally get better ☺️
I forgot to take my high blood pressure meds yesterday (high blood pressure and heartbeat caused by Strattera) and when I found out I was just happy I haven't forgotten to take my anti-depressants and/or ADHD stimulants.
Like... It seems I'd rather die than be ADHD/anxious..? 😅
Arguing, for me as an ADHD person, sucks because I often forget my own counter-arguments in the middle of saying them and even the point I was about to make. And don't get me started on those awkward moments in which I forgot what was the whole deal about...
I accidentally mixed my home slippers and guest slippers (same color) some time ago. Almost immediately I've realized I'm wearing two left slippers.
"Some time ago" meaning "In January".
I still haven't switch them back.
I'm uncomfortable every single day.

My brain: Thrives on routine
Also my brain: Is bored by routine and does everything to avoid it
My brain: Sets a flexible, non-restrictive routine
Also my brain, immediately if I miss something by 10 minutes: "Well, now it's not perfect, soooo..." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There's no good ending yet.
I'm just surprised it took me so long to realize what's happening.
I pride myself on being really introspective but this slipped through my fingers.
Anyway, maybe someone will see themselves in this thread and they'll recognize themselves in it on time

About 18 months ago my productivity and mental health started slowly, seemingly without a reason to decline.
With time, I was able to work for less and less hours a week, I avoided schoolwork more, my home was in disarray, I gave up on self-care...

Now I have to finish half a year of responsibilities on top of the thesis, which I've already postponed once.
I've got 3 months to do it. And I have no idea how am I supposed to do it.
