find me a neurodivergent person that genuinely plays The Sims and does not just sit there and build/furnish the houses and create entire families just to not actually make them do a single thing
@Helvetica09@AutisticCallum_ I love that I also always tried to tell them the most out there version of myself hehe loved their expressions. Unfortunately the most interesting fact is I’m Russian in America :(
getting tired of seeing so many "start a garden, grow your own food" posts lately presented as a solution to social collapse like we're not also in a mass disabling event that's making that kind of physical labor impossible for a significant number of people
Autistic life is being thought of as rude for not treating anyone as though they are superior, more important and more valid than anyone else - I.e seeing them as equal to yourself and everyone else. In societal culture, equality is “rude” when it offends an artificial hierarchy.
The biggest change of viewpoint I ever went through in psych training was when I said “but what if they’re doing it for attention” and my supervisor was like “what’s wrong with needing attention?” and I realised I didn’t have an answer.
Given that autism is highly heritable, it’s a huge flaw in the autism diagnosis process that parents are expected to know and confirm if there is anything “different” about their child. If there is, they probably won’t have noticed, as it’s likely their entire family is autistic.
Small talk can be extremely triggering for people who’ve experienced childhood emotional neglect. It’s the familiar surface conversation combined with a pressure to perform.
@hannaweeen My friend has only been diagnosed with PTSD, and she’s sensitive like me, I am autistic. No clue if she is or not but I don’t think you can have both diagnosis.
i highly recommend looking into the benefits of magnesium. they also have powder sticks you can put into your own drinks but this one has magnesium l-threonate, lemon balm, l-theanine, and passionflower. sooo i suppose you could get those things too 🫶🏾

@laurenancona I get migraines when there are crumbs on the sheets… can’t fall asleep even after their gone because of the painful memory all up and down my arms
@ItsEmilyKaty At 38 I realised that my diagnosed ‘rapid cycling depression’ was actually PMDD. How many people who menstruate are we losing to suicide because of a lack of research into the menstrual cycle?
i don’t think this generation truly remembers how violent and hateful anti-LGBT culture used to be in the 90s and before
it’s still that in rural areas and exurbs but the young ppl under 40 don’t get how normalized violence on us was. ‘queer bashing’ was just a regular pastime
Imagine if the man you’ve been separated from for a year comes and grabs your car keys from you at work, because your still planning to divorce them, so you learn that this male did not put you on the lease when he gifted it to you three summers ago. #mendontlikewoman
