Our brains are incredible pattern-recognition machines.
They're constantly looking for familiar shapes and numbers, but sometimes that ability works against us. One famous optical illusion hides the number 58 inside a grid filled with nothing but 5s and 6s. At first glance, everything looks identical. The more you stare, the more your brain blends the patterns together, making the hidden number surprisingly difficult to spot.
Football fans aren't so different.
For years, rival fans have become so used to seeing Arsenal challenge at the top that they overlook just how consistent the club has become. Season after season, they search for flaws, convince themselves the Gunners will fall away, and miss what's right in front of them: a team that's firmly established among Europe's elite and competing for every major honour.
Sometimes, the truth isn't hidden because it's invisible. It's hidden because people are too focused on the surrounding noise to recognise the obvious pattern.
But why 58?
Because, ladies and gentlemen… it's been 58 days since Arsenal won the league title.
