The Middle East crisis is changing what we mean by #sustainability.
It’s no longer just about environment.
It’s about energy security and resilience.
#Oil at $180 vs countries "protected" by #renewables.
The real shift:
Sustainability = strategic security.
Controvento: a me vedere tutte quelle schede elettorali condivise sui social... fa davvero piacere.
La #democrazia che torna tendenza. 🗳️ Sono l'unico a pensarla così?

Over one million people are now displaced in #Lebanon as the humanitarian situation worsens across the region.
Needs are rising fast, and IOM has launched an appeal to scale up assistance for displaced communities, including migrants.

The MIT xPRO System Thinking Executive Course reinforced something I have seen repeatedly in complex environments: performance is not mainly about working harder. It is about how the system is structured.
In high-pressure settings, the instinct is often to push more. But sustainable results rarely come from intensity alone: they come from alignment, clear feedback loops, and sound leadership choices.
I developed the infographic below to summarize five practical levers that, in my experience, improve project execution. #Systemthinking does not simplify complexity. It helps manage it more effectively!

REMINDER:
There are things to do every day:
wash yourself, study, play,
set the table
at noon.
There are things to do at night:
close your eyes, sleep,
have dreams to dream,
ears not to hear.
There are things never to do,
neither by day nor by night,
neither by sea nor by land:
for example, WAR.

Ci sono cose da fare ogni giorno:
lavarsi, studiare, giocare
preparare la tavola,
a mezzogiorno.
Ci sono cose da fare di notte:
chiudere gli occhi, dormire,
avere sogni da sognare,
orecchie per non sentire.
Ci sono cose da non fare mai,
né di giorno né di notte
né per mare né per terra:
per esempio, LA GUERRA.
This reflects months of quiet groundwork and #partnership-building.
Glad to have played a role in helping position the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab with key Italian counterparts, alongside the IOM team in Geneva and @OIMItalia, and with invaluable support from @daniels_ugochi, @beppemanzo, and DG Guerri.

For some time now, I have been reflecting on how the #privatesector should be engaged in #development, moving beyond what I often call the “old charity dynamic” toward a new model, one in which all stakeholders derive value from #investment, and #humanitarian actors also play a catalytic role.
This article offers an extremely interesting analysis of the ongoing shift from a traditional aid model based on #ODA to a new “investment model”, shaped by emerging interests, incentives, and power balances.
What will the next model for development assistance look like?
How central will private sector engagement be within this new dynamic?
As traditional foreign assistance tumbles, 2026 will be a year of hard questions — and profound reckoning — for the global development community. https://t.co/o5tvVdHRYW
#PartnershipsAchievements 🇮🇹🇺🇳
One year ago at COP29, we began a constructive dialogue with the Italian Minister of Environment on a potential new partnership between @UNmigration and the Italian Government.
I am pleased to have facilitated the first high-level bilateral between the Minister and the IOM Deputy Director General @daniels_ugochi, and to have negotiated this initiative, which is now evolving into a tangible collaboration focused on #environment, #climate resilience and human #mobility.
(Grateful to all colleagues and counterparts who have supported this journey. But a special thanks goes to Amb. @beppemanzo, DG Guerri and all the amazing team at @MASE_IT)
