Our first speaker for tomorrow is Dr. Calum Murray, a cosmologist at CEA-Saclay, studying galaxy clusters, the largest gravitationally bound structures in the Universe using gravitational lensing. Currently works with the ESA Euclid mission to study dark matter & dark energy!

Our second speaker is Michele Citran, a PhD student at the Paris Saclay University and Paris Citè. He works on the largest scales of the universe, in particular on the cosmic microwave background radiation and on the distribution of the galaxies over the whole universe!

In her talk, Dr. Rachel Hamburg will explain what gamma-ray bursts are, describe the most famous gamma-ray bursts in recent history, and show how they are important for understanding the high-energy universe.

🧵Our second speaker on 2 July is Dr. Rachel Hamburg, a postdoctoral researcher in gamma-ray astrophysics currently working with CNRS at the IJCLab on the Université Paris-Saclay campus.

Rachel is a member of NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor Instrument Team and gets text messages from the satellite on a daily basis. She is also a member of SVOM, a newly-launched French and Chinese satellite dedicated to multi-wavelength follow-up of gamma-ray bursts.

In his talk, Alberto will introduce us to the world of gamma-ray astronomy, the science behind the detection of some astrophysical phenomena, and will guide us on a journey across the high-energy universe.

🧵We are very excited to introduce Alberto Rosales, our first speaker on 2 July 2024. Originally from the city of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico, Alberto grew up with a fascination for mathematics, astronomy, science fiction and physics.

Alberto is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique Nucléaire et des Hautes Énergies (LPNHE), from Sorbonne Université and the Observatory of Paris.
