There are so many good kids in our schools! Sweet kids who make good choices. But it’s easy for the adults in the building to get distracted, discouraged, or overwhelmed by the challenging kids. It’s important to recognize and value the students doing the right thing.

It’s disconcerting to me that anyone would criticize the idea that readers use pictures and we lean into that process. I'm a very good adult reader, and I use pictures not as a substitute for words but to support extend and enrich my understanding. It’s absurd to think otherwise.
