His drive phase. That's his acceleration and his stride length. His speed.
What I love is he's not trying to put Johnston in a box and make him look like every other receiver. He's looking at what makes him rare, the thing that puts fear in a defensive back, and that's his speed. So instead of slowing him down to make the route look perfect, he's telling him go put fear in the DB first. We'll worry about the top of the route later.
Not a lot of coaches pay attention to that detail, or care enough about it, to get a guy's best.
