They chose not to delay prosecutions and new safeguards by waiting years.

They didn't just vote against an inquiry. It was a "wrecking amendment"
meaning if it passed, it would have killed the entire Children’s Wellbeing Bill instantly. They voted to save the bill, arguing we need action now instead of waiting years for another report.
