This is an iconic photo of Margaret Hamilton.

It's 1969 and she's standing next to the navigation software that she produced for the Apollo Project and sent humans on the Moon when she was director of the Software Engineering Division of the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory.

Margaret Hamilton has published more than 130 papers, proceedings, and reports, about sixty projects, and six major programs.

She invented the term software engineering.
