Gospel of the Day (Luke 9,57-62)
And to another [Jesus] said, "Follow me." But he replied, "Lord, let me go first and bury my father."
But he answered him, "Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God."

Gospel of the Day (Matthew 9,9-13)
"Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn the meaning of the words, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."

⛪ Churches, parish halls, convents and community buildings have been damaged by the earthquake.
These places are often lifelines for families in crisis.
Please pray for those rebuilding their communities and support this essential work with a donation.

Gospel of the Day (Luke 8,4-15)
"Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been granted to you; but to the rest, they are made known through parables so that 'they may look but not see, and hear but not understand.'"

O God, who called your servant Saint Theodore
to be a Bishop among us
and to set the Church on a firm foundation,
grant, we pray, through his intercession,
that we may always remain steadfast on the rock
which is Christ
and be obedient to the calling we have received.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Muslims and Jews intend to worship the God of Abraham, but they reject Christ, who is God and the Truth. Therefore, they do not know the One they intend to worship. The God they profess excludes God the Son and is not God as He truly is. In that sense, it is not the same God.
@realChrisCoda@FrMatthewLC You distinguish whom they intend to worship from what they actually believe. But belief in God cannot be separated from who God is. A belief that excludes God the Son is not the same belief in God as the Christian faith. it rejects God as he has fully revealed himself.
@realChrisCoda@FrMatthewLC That is precisely where I disagree. Denying the Son is not merely misunderstanding God. It is rejecting God as He has revealed Himself. Christ did not say they honour the Father imperfectly. He said they do not honour the Father at all. That truth is essential for evangelisation.
@realChrisCoda@FrMatthewLC They may intend to worship the God of Abraham, but by denying the Son they reject God as He truly is. "He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him" (John 5:23).
The Church does not exist for herself, but to lead every person to an encounter with the Lord. It is therefore not enough to ask whether an activity is well organized, well attended, or has been running for many years. We must ask whether it truly leads people to Christ and brings the Gospel into contact with the concrete realities of people’s lives.
“Satan attacks the pope above all. His hatred for the successor of Peter is fierce. I have experienced this in my exorcisms.”
Pope Leo, cardinals, bishops, priests, and all who serve Christ must remain constantly in our prayers.
Father Gabriele Amorth, a renowned Italian exorcist who passed away 10 years ago on Sept. 16, 2016, left behind a valuable legacy of lessons about the devil, drawn from Amorth’s many years of ministry.
Here are seven lessons he shared throughout his life:

@BishopBarron I will pray for the families, but it is deeply troubling that daycare has become an economic necessity. A truly pro-family society would enable mothers to raise their children at home, rather than separating them for the sake of greater workforce participation and tax revenue.
