Farmer co-operatives are more than just groups. They are a pathway to stronger markets.
By working together, farmers can buy inputs at better prices, negotiate fairer prices with buyers and earn more from what they produce.
@aBiDevt, in partnership with input suppliers like Grainpulse Ltd, is strengthening farmer co-operatives by improving access to quality agricultural inputs, including providing them on credit to enhance farmer resilience.
Watch Van Oudtshoorn, CEO of Grainpulse Ltd, explain why farmer co-operatives matter.

A mother hen can warm about a dozen chicks, but a modern brooder can warm thousands.
Scale is the difference and it’s what can transform a poultry farm.
Automated heat, lighting and watering systems reduce chick mortality, while letting farmers raise far larger flocks with less labour.
For smallholder farmers ready to scale, modern brooders ensure stronger growth and healthier flocks.

What if farming could become smarter, faster and more resilient to climate change? 🌱
Modern agriculture is transforming how farmers grow, harvest and preserve food through innovation, precision and climate-smart solutions.
Smart sensors, drones and data analytics are already helping Ugandan farmers:
✅ Reduce waste ✅ Lower costs ✅ Increase yields ✅ Protect soil health
Mechanisation is also reducing labour and improving efficiency, while cold chain storage is helping farmers preserve quality and extend shelf life.
Solar-powered irrigation and processing are also enabling farmers to produce more sustainably using clean renewable energy.
Through @aBiDevt’s #GRASP programme, modern agriculture is no longer out of reach for Uganda’s smallholder farmers.

This afternoon I met with Joab Niwagaba and Phina Zoe, both Masters students at Makerere University. They came to share some ideas on citizen participation in oil and gas developments. We talked about Uganda’s oil journey and I shared some thoughts and literature with them. Always great to see people committed to democratising information to support participation. I look forward to more engagements in the future.
The world does not reward intentions, it rewards results. So go out and get results. No one is coming to save you. You can blame all you want but at the end of the day, it’s you against the World.
