Toxic fume events on commercial planes are becoming more common, exposing passengers, flight attendants, and pilots to fuel, engine exhaust, de-icing fluid, and ozone in cabin air.

These exposures can cause serious health risks.

May 25, 1979, AA191, a DC-10 operating from Chicago to Los Angeles, crashed upon takeoff. Ten Flight Attendants, three Pilots, 258 passengers, and two people on the ground perished.

Today, we pause to remember those lost.
