Yes. Lets burn to the ground the last living project the studio is working on. Let’s speed run Bungie getting fully wiped out bc Marathon fails and as a result we get told D3 will never happen along with Destiny servers going fully offline too permanently, shelving the IP forever. Let’s put all the blame on the people that have been pouring their life into giving us these experiences and being shut down by Sony and horrible upper leadership.
All the Bungie doomers are reaping what they sowed, and are crying the loudest now. Be so fucking for real.
Satirical or not, having a platform and voice this influential and posting this kind of horse shit is further hurting any chances of getting what you’re asking for.
Y’know this whole “war” about marathon and destiny is really funny because the only way it’ll end up is both games being shuttered, 850 people losing their jobs, and about 40,000 people being righteously indignant and acting like they lost more than anyone else.
If you wish Marathon to fail then Sony can say players don't want Bungie games. If everyone goes to Marathon then Sony can say we never wanted Destiny. What I'm getting at is, this isn't a Marathon problem, this is a Management problem. Thats's your enemy, not other players.
What many D2 and Marathon fans fail to realize is that they're in the same boat with eachother, and the boat is sinking, and there is no way off the boat, you can only support eachother and try to fix the boat. Blaming eachother for why the boat is sinking isnt gonna fix the boat
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON

I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
I WANT MARATHON
I WANT DESTINY
Remember how all you wanted was for your friends to try Destiny so you can share the joy and love you had for the game.
Thats how most of us feel about Marathon.
It will never replace Destiny but all we want is for our friends to give it a chance.
I stand with Myelin Games on this whole situation.
The toxic side of the Destiny community has taken things too far, and I'm glad to see creators like him standing his ground. It sucks to be pushed to this point to begin with, but it's where we are now

I did a live react to his stream vod the other day but decided it wasn't worth posting a vid bc validating this perspective and egging the drama on is really dumb
I feel for aztecross and all destiny fans but genuinely this is self destructive behavior and will not get you d3
Sony doesn’t operate on Twitter petitions, fake corporate roleplay letters, or “we know how to fight” energy. They look at:
- Sustained revenue trends
- Player retention curves
- Development costs vs. return
- Brand risk
If the “Destiny community” keeps proving itself toxic, entitled, and willing to actively sabotage new projects out of spite, Sony’s rational move is to minimize exposure, not double down. Burning Bungie to the ground and letting the IP rot (or licensing it to whoever wants it for mobile slop) is absolutely on the table before they let a vocal minority dictate billion-dollar decisions.
The Destiny community is not Call of Duty or GTA. You are not even close to the cultural force you imagine yourselves to be. You had a strong run, but you are not some irreplaceable pillar of Sony’s portfolio. Your leverage is imaginary; as it always was. The only real leverage in this industry is consistent wallet voting and retention, not performative outrage.
And guess what? The Destiny community DID vote with their wallets. Which is why Destiny 2 is no longer being updated.
Marathon did not kill Destiny 2 🙅♂️❌
A whole list of things ruined Destiny 2 over the years that lead to its downfall:
- PvP Neglect (no new maps for years, months without updates)
- Content Vault/Weapon Sunsetting
- Seasons/drip fed content
- Weapon Crafting
- Poor Onboarding Experience
- Pete Parsons/Management inflating Bungies value prior to Sony Acquisition
Although there were peaks with some of the content releases (Into The Light, Final Shape, Raids/Dungeons, Weapon/Buildcrafting) Edge of Fate was the nail in the coffin after they introduced Portal Ops essentially killing the heart and soul of the game.
That being said, Destiny 2 had a good run. I hope Destiny 3 can come out one day. I will be playing Marathon Season 2 and I am also checking out the final Destiny 2 update 💪 We are playing video games at the end of the day. All the noise going on is just grown adults acting like clowns 🤡
The burn down Marathon because I can't have Destiny is giving "my toy broke so break everyone else's" energy.
If your reaction to your favorite thing going away is to start fires, you're the reason that thing went away.
You are community leaders. Do better or move over.
"I want Marathon to fail so that Bungie will focus on Destiny."
This is a statement I can empathize with a bit as it's generally how I felt about Respawn with Apex & Titanfall. It's rooted in the fact that the developer behind your favorite game decided they want to make something else now and you don't like it!
Let's go down this path a little bit further though and consider the most probable outcome based on prior behavior if Marathon truly does fail.
When a Sony owned studio releases a game that is a commercial failure or they fail to pitch ideas Sony is interested in, they get shut down. They do not get increased funding or more tries with other ideas. We've already seen this twice in 2026 with Bluepoint & Dark Outlaw. In fact, over the past 14 years Sony has shut down 13 studios. There is little reason to believe Bungie would be treated any differently. So when Sony tells you who they are, listen.
If you truly want Bungie to even have a chance at making Destiny 3 we need to start with the entire studio not being liquidated by the end of the year.
Not liking Marathon is fine, it's a very different game! Rooting for its failure though? That's like stabbing your favorite author in the hand and then wondering why they never got to a sequel for your favorite book they wrote years ago.
@KSkwalsh @RyGilliam It does work but only if it says “drive salvage” or whatever “salvage” it has to have the word salvage in it. If it just says drives and wires you actually need the drives and wires. If it said drives and wires salvage then you can use grey mats.
