Milton Friedman:
“Over and over again, you’ll find that the reaction is: ‘What we’ve done in the past has not worked, but that’s because we haven’t done it right. We ought to spend more money on it.’”
“I can understand that attitude in the 1930s when we had not sufficiently absorbed the experience of other countries. But it’s much harder to understand it in the 1970s when we now have 40 years of experience behind us.”
@Lekrom@Our_DA The DA have one guy who is doing a great job. Ian Cameron. but he's entirely offset by the other wanksocks that got positions in the ministries. VF+ got one job and they are doing really well. Even the ANC is running SARS very very well to the detriment of the country.
Hayek on the left’s appropriation of the term ‘liberal’:
“I am still puzzled why those in the United States who truly believe in liberty should not only have allowed the left to appropriate this almost indispensable term but should even have assisted by beginning to use it themselves as a term of opprobrium.”
“This seems to be particularly regrettable because of the consequent tendency of many true liberals to describe themselves as conservatives.”
@Recon1_ZA@doodlehabibi@jsteenhuisen Steenhuizen will never get into the VF+. He’ll have to do a Karl thing and join the EFF , though I doubt even they would take him.
Maybe the estate agents guild .
Oh I do. Despite his party. He’s in there doing a great job , and the DA certainly don’t deserve him. I shall vote for another party, and encourage others to do so too- there simply aren’t enough Ians in the DA for it to become a proper centrist party . Hopefully he is able to move across to a proper centrist party that deserves his talents. In the meantime - we are certainly grateful for him.
the DA high command are no different. Where do you think his shit attitude comes from?
Remember how they told the populace to suck it up when they supported the COVID lockdown and people were losing house, businesses, committing suicide? nothing but absolute contempt for the non political class.
Few years ago we were doing some work for a major international company that was very big on the no bigotry policies . It was very clear that no one was above being fired for stepping out of line, and they’d dumped lead talent for inappropriate comments in the past.
We had a big talk for all the HODs on the subject.
Even if discussing the script and actual words feature, you don’t say those words. It the n word , the c word , etc .
Quite difficult as I’m English and the ‘c word’ is more of an affectionate greeting than an insult, and when they learned about the ‘P word’ there was some consternation - it’s local vernacular 🤣
One thing was made particularly clear though - if your uzzies (staff / underlings) felt comfortable with making bigoted statements to you or in front of you as an HOD you are complicit and you can fuck off with them. And you will fuck off with immediate effect .
There are plenty of corporates that are no different .
Same thing here - the office pukes are obviously very comfortable being derisive towards the people they are supposed to serve - as you say the head is as rotten as the fish. If only DA members could be held to account like anyone that actually works for a living ..
@Rolandschoeman Moreover… they’d have to be pretty comfortable with the fact that everyone they thought they were addressing it too was equally a scumbag …
@IanCameron23@Rebel_Reboot@TheJaundicedEye@FmdResponseSA You are in the wrong party Ian! One of the very few politicians in our country that’s actually competent and understand that the citizens and taxpayers are real people that are affected by the ego games played by the so called ‘leaders’ . Well done.
