Introducing MySight, a real time colourblindness simulator for iPhone and iPad.

4:30 am, been waiting for 14 hours for a callback from @Airbnb@AirbnbHelp
I guess discovering Iโm was in an illegal rented property isnโt a big deal for them, might as well go to bed
My eyesight has been bad for a while, and Iโve just had eye surgery to correct it
I have to wear shades everywhere I go
If you still havenโt adopted dark mode, get in the bin
So many apps I havenโt been able to use for months
Yes, @Uber especially huge companies like you
One of my many pet peeves is people who build websites who claim that accessibility limits their creativity.
It doesnโt. Itโs a cop-out of an excuse to continue excluding people.
For The Verge's Design series, I wrote about my personal experience living with colorblindness, how it's widely misunderstood by people without color vision deficiency, and ways to design for it. https://t.co/HHBWY60Bda
Hello ๐
Version 2 of, well, me, is now on the App Store!
New:
- Toggle the CVD filter on and off to quickly switch between normal and CVD simulation. Suggested by @DaltonLens
- Help screen that explains the technical terms. Suggested by @kmi_edu#1in12boys#1in200girls
Because it takes time to get right in the app, and they have investors to answer to
And they're watching money leaving their accounts every month and they need to stay afloat
It's a difficult balance to strike, but we need to champion those in need
We, as developers, need to champion accessibility to our teams and bosses.
Those whose focus on the bottom line will always feel compelled to cut additional costs, and the "edge case" of treating that 1 in 12, or 1 in 20, or 1 in 50 user is seen as an unjustified expense
๐ฃ I'm hearing the #WWDC22 accessibility labs are quieter than normal, so if you apply for a spot you're almost guaranteed to get one. This is your chance to ask anything about accessibility to help make your apps better โย show them your work! You never know where it might go ๐
Updated my CV and LinkedIn profile today to add an end date to my time at @bloom_life
I leave with relationships that are with great friends, not co-workers
My next job has some big shoes to fill!
PS looking for a new challenge, no pressure! ๐
