If everyone is “following,” who is leading?

Με βαθιά θλίψη παρακολουθούμε το περιστατικό με τις δύο 17χρονες στην Ηλιούπολη.

Σε τέτοιες στιγμές, χρειάζεται όλοι, Μέσα Ενημέρωσης, πολίτες και χρήστες των social media, να σταθούμε με προσοχή, ευθύνη και σεβασμό.

Η αναπαραγωγή αποσπασμάτων, προσωπικών σημειωμάτων ή λεπτομερειών γύρω από το περιστατικό δεν είναι απλή ενημέρωση. Αγγίζει την ιδιωτικότητα των παιδιών, επιβαρύνει τις οικογένειές και τους φίλους τους και μπορεί να επηρεάσει αρνητικά άλλα παιδιά και εφήβους που βρίσκονται σε ψυχική δυσκολία.

Δεν χρειάζεται να μοιραστούμε τις τελευταίες σκέψεις ενός παιδιού για να καταλάβουμε τον πόνο του.

Δεν χρειάζεται να κάνουμε δημόσια την πιο ευάλωτη στιγμή του για να μιλήσουμε για την ανάγκη στήριξης.

Γιατί κάπου μπορεί να υπάρχει ένα άλλο παιδί που θα το διαβάσει σε μια πολύ δύσκολη στιγμή. Ένα παιδί που νιώθει μόνο, πιεσμένο, φοβισμένο ή κουρασμένο.

Και οι λέξεις αυτές μπορεί να μη λειτουργήσουν ως ενημέρωση, αλλά ως ταύτιση.

Ας μην κάνουμε τον πόνο περιεχόμενο.

Ας επιλέξουμε να προστατεύσουμε.

Με σεβασμό στο παιδί που το έγραψε.
Με ευθύνη απέναντι σε κάθε άλλο παιδί που μπορεί να το διαβάσει.
