Zechariah: Commit Your Heart to God
https://t.co/5AcfknAjDW
The prophecies of Zechariah are directed at the heart of the people. He called them to repentance, and urged them to commit their heart to God. Throughout the book, we find revelations of the Messiah in both His first and second advent, with very specific details that unfold in the New Testament. There are so many things that we can glean from this book: not just that Christ is coming again, Christ is King, and that in Christ there is salvation, but also that there are consequences for a people who turn their back on God.

Don’t Make This Mistake
https://t.co/DXo9sCwXQt
Pastor Scott warns against having only a casual or indifferent relationship with God, cautioning that just as with ancient Israel, a day of reckoning will come, and dismissing it as distant or unlikely is a dangerous mistake.

Christ Is in Every Line of the Old Testament
If last week’s message about the Resurrection had a part two, it would be to show that Christ is in every line of the Old Testament. His birth, His suffering, His death, His resurrection, His ascension. They’re all there.

This Is What I’ve Been Railing Against
Pastor Scott pushes back against the popular Christian narrative that the Jewish people were always faithful to God, pointing out that the book of Amos serves as a clear biblical indictment of Israel’s complete rejection of God.

Prayer Matters
Your role in praying for people in your family is critical. Small utterances can change the direction of things, not because you “will” them to, but because you’re petitioning God nonstop for your loved ones. Prayer really does matter.

Micah Was Concerned for the Poor and Oppressed
The prophet Micah was concerned for the poor and oppressed. This marginalized group was neglected by the false leaders who only catered to the rich and affluent. His burden is very Christ-like and sets him apart from the corrupt leadership of his day.

Haggai: Prioritize God
The book of Haggai speaks to those who returned from captivity to rebuild the temple, but they stopped and went to rebuild their own houses. They were told to put God first, tend to His house, and stop being self-serving. This book speaks to us today as well. God will enable us to take care of His house, and He will not abandon us if we put Him first in all things.

No Man Could’ve Written This
https://t.co/RNmPpdiC2z
Pastor Scott reads Amos’ condemnation of those who oppress the poor and pervert justice. She asserts that no human mind could have authored such precise and prophetic writing, and that it could only originate from God.

How God Began to Reveal Himself in the Old Testament
God was still a mystery to Moses when He revealed Himself as “I AM” in Exodus 3. God continued to reveal Himself throughout the Old Testament in the names that people added on to “I AM” as they discovered more about His nature. All of these names were a progressive revelation because no one was able to take it all in at once. The same is true for learning about who God is today.
