🚨 I’m a Black U.S. Military Veteran — and Firestone Complete Auto Care Complete Auto Care falsely accused me of robbing their store. On June 2, 2020, I went to Firestone Complete Auto Care Complete Auto Care Store #358050 to ask about an oil change they performed on my daughter’s car. They noted there were “heavy oil leaks” but still performed the service — without offering repairs. While calmly speaking with the manager about it, he suddenly yelled “DENIED!” at me multiple times. I asked him to lower his voice and show me respect. Instead, he kept yelling, and I finally yelled back. He was unprofessional and out of control. As I stood outside on the phone with Firestone Corporate, I saw the manager on the phone pointing at me, and minutes later, 4 police cars pulled up. The officers walked up to me and said, “Tell us about the handgun.” WHAT HANDGUN?! I was shocked and terrified — I told them I had no clue what they were talking about. Turns out, the manager told police I was holding up the business and that I was armed with a handgun. That was a lie. I never said anything about a gun. I never threatened anyone. I was a customer asking a question — and I was targeted because I’m Black. Police began to arrest me. I yelled to the assistant manager, “Ma’am, did I ever mention a gun?” She replied: “No! You didn’t do anything wrong!” Eventually, the officers admitted the manager was lying. They apologized — one even said: “You know Firestone is going to have to pay you for this, right?” But Firestone Complete Auto Care Complete Auto Care didn’t fire the manager. They quietly transferred him to another location — 471 Columbia Ave, Lexington, SC — in 2024. I’m still fighting Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC today for nearly losing my life, being publicly humiliated, and falsely accused of a felony. I’m a disabled Army veteran. I served in Iraq. Now I’m being treated like a criminal in my own country — by a company that should have shown respect. 👉🏾 Racial profiling is real. Veterans deserve better. Black lives deserve dignity. I’m sharing my story publicly because Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC thinks I don’t deserve justice.
