Over the coming days, the British Overseas Territories of Bermuda, Anguilla and the Turks and Caicos Islands are celebrating their national days.
Representatives from all three nations presented me with their flags this week, which will fly in New Palace Yard over the weekend.

Following the publication of The New Plan for Immigration Policy paper, the UK Government intends to end long-standing historical anomalies to British Overseas Territories citizenship.
One of these anomalies denied British Overseas Territories Citizenship (BOTC) to a very specific group of people: children born before 1st July 2006, whose parents were not married, and where only the father has/had BOTC.

Friday Fact #CaymanIslands were under British rule since 1670, officially becoming a colony of Jamaica in 1863, which declared independence from Britain in 1952. #CaymanIslands chose to remain part of the British Empire which is how #BritishOverseasTerritory status was obtained.
