Love,
The EA Team!
Maybe instead of thinking $3.25 is a huge raise. Maybe ask yourself...why does $3.25 make up 11.7% of their wage? Flip the script and it clearly shows we are under paid.
Food for thought...
Given the private sector is averaging 5% this year and #cupe has only received 8.8% over the past decade versus 20%+ for the private sector, 2% per year doesn't cut it. Do better! #onted
When will the news call Ford and Lecce out for their lies?? Cupe didn’t ask for a 50% pay increase! We asked for $3.25/hour. We don’t have 131 sick days we have 11 sick days and 120 of short term disability which we have to apply. #CTV,#CUPEStrong#stoplying
Avg. rent in the city is 2500/month, which is 30K/year. Avg. CUPE Ed worker salary is 39K/year. Remember who to be mad at if schools are closed due to a strike: blame falls squarely on the man denying early childhood educators and custodians the right to basic decent living.
As you hear about CUPE strike action, never forget that @Sflecce took $465 million out of the education budget to pay parents, when $235 million would have avoided a strike.
