Getting out early this morning wasn’t hard as I was pumped to get back to work but my hands, they were not ready for this cold!

Things to note in our session:

🐶 Dog training is like watching paint dry. I’m not begging for dogs attention. She gives it to me and I run with it. True attention, not looking at my hands for cookies.

🏀 I am asking her to jump and she’s hesitating, I’m building it on purpose, notice she has zero problem jumping like a complete idiot elsewhere. I don’t like that and I do want her to happily jump just not all over me so I’m a disgusting mess anytime I go anywhere. (Goodbye white Dominican clothes.)

😡 I punished her for muzzle punching my face- this hurts! While ny words could have been better it’s important I’m clearly telling her she can’t effin do that, I almost had a bloody nose. Could I have marked and cookie treated the 4 feet on the ground. Sure but I’m not because I think it’s crucial dogs learn exactly what I don’t like.

👻 I don’t have the most important part on video but 4 minutes before I started this when Tia got out of the car she lost her mind getting out of the crate. She got super spooky, tried to launch herself back in the car. Started spinning and looking for a way “out”. I stood calmly, VERY focused on keeping the leash loose and just let her learn for herself that we aren’t going to die in the Trinity SuperStore parking lot. 4 minutes is what it took and then she changed. Why? Because I knew we were fine and I’m sure she looked at me and questioned herself. Why am I acting like this? And then became herself again. Launching herself at random strangers to give attack kisses. Makes total sense she failed the RCMP dog program.
