That’s a QRT, or Quick Reaction Team (evident from the vehicle). A QRT responds to any kind of threat that needs to be neutralised and contained immediately, as the name suggests.

They are following their SOPs to secure the gate. It doesn’t matter whether protestors are coming through or terrorists.

Major installations have multiple QRTs assigned to different yet specific tasks.

Kindly cross-check such things before you post, either with your friends in the police/armed forces or with people who have subject-matter knowledge.
