MY #1 FINTWIT OBSERVATION:
Most failing traders wrongly attribute their struggle to issues of psychology & risk mgmt.
Reality is most have ZERO EDGE.
They are naively fooled by randomness into thinking their wins are edge.
This seduces them to troubleshoot the wrong problem.
Could’ve, should’ve, would’ve…
Trading isn’t about what could’ve happened, it’s about what DID. The only time we reference the past is when we r CORRECTING it. This is a results based business. Keep it 💯 with yourself about ur performance each day so u can do better tomorrow.
My bro @Bull_B3ar asked me what helped me be consistent! It’s NOT just one thing it’s a combination is many things!
As we grow & develop as traders the market is always changing. It’s the traders job to understand this & have self control as we adept to different conditions💯
Discipline may be a choice but make sure u r good with the lack of results if u aren’t respecting it. Trading rules can’t protect u if they aren’t followed
Today is a very special day for me and Bridgewater Associates because I transitioned my control of Bridgewater to the next generation and I feel great about the people and "machine" now in control. This transition moment is the culmination of a 47-year journey (1/11)
IMO best way to understand your trading is to collect trade data daily, record each trading session, take detailed notes then log everything & journal 📓 it. This process takes a long time but having organized data you can clearly see what/why something works & what to improve on
